The story, part four

Here we go, again!

So they had passed, without much said, but with the confirmation that their lives crossed paths in more than one way. The whispering about each other picked up, to their co-workers, to their friends, and even, now, to their families. This had to be something, right? They would smile at each other across the Kosher foods aisle at the grocery store, and he may have lingered a little longer when depositing his checks, but not much more than that.

Since both students lived off campus, she with her friends in a rental, and he in his new house, they both took the shuttle to their classes. Bright and early, for 8 am classes, they were both up, but didn't know it. One day, he was sitting on the bus, waiting for everyone to load, with his books on the empty seat next to him, when there she was. Walking down the bus aisle was the girl, how romantic (insert hair blowing in the wind, a heavenly glow from above, and angels singing). He shoved his books to the ground and smiled and waved her over. Then and there was their first conversation, but the shuttle bus ride to school only lasts about ten minutes.

So the conversation at the bank picked up, and soon they found each other waiting for the bus until the other arrived, and riding to school together. Little by little they were getting to know each other.

Now this girl and her friends used to have big giant ragers of parties at their house. The kind of party where they only knew about a third of the people in attendance. They were on the porch, in the yard, on the deck, and filled all three levels of the house. They always started out as having a few friends over, and evolved from there. Knowing that one of these parties was probably going to go down that weekend, she went out on a limb. She invited the boy to her party while they were at the bank one day.

So he was determined to go. He brought along some beer and some rum and the party was started. Sure enough, though, there were probably close to 100 people at the house and only so much can be learned about someone in the presence of so many people.

The party came and went and things were back to normal, except now something was definitely happening. In addition to waiting for each other before the shuttle bus at school, they began waiting for each other after work, to go to dinner, and they began attending each other's events and meeting friends. Eventually (after close to two months of this), he asked her on their first official date.

That was in October of 2006.

I had never believed in love at first sight until I saw James (*gag*, I know, super cheesy, sorry). But there you have it! The complete story.
